The line-up: Morante, Talavante and David de Miranda
Morante de la Puebla is, today, one of the most distinctive and celebrated bullfighters in recent history. Born in La Puebla del Río (Seville), his classic, deeply artistic style has earned him awards, grand gate triumphs and unanimous acclaim from critics and the public. In 2025 he opened the Puerta Grande at Las Ventas twice —in June and October—, and in April 2026 he delivered a historic performance at La Maestranza that chroniclers described as unrepeatable. Seeing him in Marbella, on a fair day, is an opportunity that does not come around every season.
Alejandro Talavante arrives in Marbella at the best moment of his career. The matador from Extremadura ended 2025 as number one on the bullfighting rankings and began 2026 as the first major winner of the San Isidro Fair, where he cut two ears at Las Ventas and went out through the Puerta Grande for the seventh time in his career. His bullfighting, recognisable for its stillness, its poise and an exceptional wrist, has won over Spain’s great bullfighting crowds. On 13 June he has the chance to seal his great season before the Costa del Sol audience.
David de Miranda is the great revelation of contemporary bullfighting. Born in Trigueros (Huelva), this matador forged through effort and perseverance enjoyed the season of his life in 2025: he triumphed at Seville’s La Maestranza with three ears and a shoulder-borne exit through the Puerta del Príncipe, won the Capote de Paseo trophy at the Málaga Fair, and swept the American seasons in Colombia, Mexico and Peru. In January 2026 he received the Huelva Medal for Art, one of the most important honours in his homeland. His concept of bullfighting —truth, courage and purity— connects immediately with any fan, whether seasoned or new.
